On Monday, our think tank network Epicenter took a major step forward by hosting the event “Making Europe the Next Silicon Valley of the World” in Brussels, bringing together 150 policymakers and entrepreneurs.
The discussion focused on a simple but crucial question: If Europe has the talent, universities, and a single market of nearly 450 million people, why do we still struggle to build and scale the companies of tomorrow?
From investment and regulation to digitalisation and entrepreneurship, the message was clear: Europe must become faster, more ambitious, and more willing to let entrepreneurs build.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such a lively discussion.
Special thanks go to Taavi Rõivas, former Prime Minister of Estonia, and Adi Jonuse, entrepreneur and Web3 technology pioneer, for sharing their first-hand experience of what it takes to build and scale companies.
INESS was represented by Radovan Ďurana at this excellent event, which brought the work of our network members directly to the attention of policymakers.
In addition to the event in Brussels, Radovan Ďurana also met with an official from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy (DG ENER) on Monday, 7 September 2026. They discussed possible scenarios for the future of European energy regulation.
