Since 2017, INESS has been hosting Econtalks (Ekonomické reči) – a series of informal economic discussions held in relaxed, pub-like settings in Bratislava. What started as a handful of casual evenings has grown into a genuine tradition. To date, we’ve organized 40 Econtalks on topics ranging from monetary policy and cryptocurrencies to the EU budget, energy crises, pension reform or the future of healthcare.
Each edition brings together a hosting INESS analyst and a guest (or several guests), experts from the relevant field, whether economics, healthcare, education, or beyond. There’s no strict agenda, just an open conversation over a drink, with plenty of room for the audience to jump in with questions.
It’s this informality that keeps people coming back: complex economic and social issues, broken down in plain language, in the kind of setting where a good argument is just as welcome as a good laugh.
All information about upcoming Econtalks is available in the INESS events calendar or Facebook and Instagram.
