Kurzarbeit scheme to salvage big employers

In respect to costs, Radovan Ďurana, economic analyst with the think tank INESS, calls for a cost-benefit analysis, and that Slovakia should not become excessively indebted to maintain current employment.

“We cannot play the game as the most generous, but to follow the criterion of what is responsible and solidary,” Ďurana wrote in his opinion piece for the Denník N daily. “We must also care about what will happen next year or after five years so that recovery does not hurt us more than the disease itself.”
